"Roots and Greens: A Walk Through the Kitchen Garden"
On Saturday, 25th January 2025, students from Grade 1 stepped out of the classroom into the vibrant world of our school’s Kitchen Garden! They visited the school’s kitchen garden to observe and learn about the vegetables they had previously sown.
From planting seeds to harvesting fresh produce, they learned the magic behind growing their own food and the benefits of sustainable practices. This hands-on experience aimed to reinforce the concepts of planting, nurturing, and harvesting.
Students were guided through the garden, identifying various winter vegetables including Radish, Turnip,Spinach. Teacher demonstrated proper harvesting techniques and discussed the importance of seasonal planting.
Through this experience, they gained a deeper understanding of where their meals come from and the importance of caring for the environment. demonstration students showed enthusiasm and interest in gardening and healthy eating and also collaborated and communicated effectively during the activities. The kitchen garden visit was a valuable educational experience that connected students with nature and promoted awareness of food source..
