Science is about discovering the world around us and having new and wonderful ideas.
For fostering scientific thinking in the students, Meerut Public School, Pallavpuram organised a practical session on science experiments and demonstration for the students of grades 1 to 5.
The experiments performed were related to the engrossing topics:
Formation of Carbon dioxide gas by the reaction of acetic acid and baking soda.
Rising of Water Experiment using burning candle
The burning candle heated the air inside the container and this hot air expanded quickly. When the flame goes out, the air cooled down and created a weak vacuum or lower pressure inside the glass. On the other hand, the air outside the glass remained the same. This created a difference in air pressure which results in the water rising inside the glass.
The students exhibited interesting facts under the able guidance of their science teacher.
