Phonemic awareness lays the foundation for learning letters!
Meerut Public School organized an exclusive virtual Workshop on Phonics which was conducted by Curio Team on 3rd July 2021. The workshop touched upon the use of correct phonics, blending and segmentation of letters. The session was attended by all kindergarten coordinators and teachers. In the beginning Mrs. Richa Sharma, Advisor -MPS Group reminded everyone of that little song (individual phonic sound of letters) we shall use to introduce the letters at early stage. The resource person form Skills and You, Mrs. Shambhavi Nautiyal emphasized that use of facial expressions and hand movements are an important part of Phonic Learning. She talked of the Phonic Stages: • Learning the letter sounds • Learning letter formation • Blending • Identifying sounds in words • and use of Technology in teaching & learning phonics in a child friendly method.
This workshop enabled teachers to learn the technique of teaching children to read and write as early as possible and with ease. It proved to be an enriching workshop for the kindergarten.
