The Government Of India vide Ministry of Home Affairs notification has decided to commemorate 26th December every year as 'Veer Bal Diwas' to pay homage to the heroic valour and supreme sacrifice of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh ji, the sons of the tenth Guru of Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh ji, on 26th December 1704, at the tender age of 9 and 7 years respectively, in their quest for justice.
To pay homage to the courage of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh ji and younger sons of Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji, the tenth Guru of Sikhs, MPS Pallavpuram conducted an array of activities on 26 December '22.
The students saw the movie 'Chaar Sahibzaade' and were motivated to acquire the qualities of sacrifice, courage, steadfastness, confidence, mindfulness, and others as exhibited by the Sahibzadas. Identifying similar acts of courage, they wrote inspiring short stories about an imaginary character who stood courageously against all challenges and adversities.
The day concluded with a group discussion on the values which they learnt from the lives of the Sahibzadas and how they can incorporate them into their own lives.
