Swachchta Hi Seva Campaign

“LIGHT THE LAMP OF CLEANLINESS, TO SPREAD THE LIGHT OF GODLINESS”

Meerut Public School Westend Road proudly participated in the "Swachhata Hi Seva" Campaign, a nationwide initiative to promote cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene on 1 October ’23. The school embraced this campaign as an opportunity to not only contribute to the larger goal of a cleaner India but also to align our efforts with the timeless principles of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of our Nation.

In keeping with the directives of CBSE, under the "Swachchta hi Seva Campaign", a cleanliness drive was organised by the school at Augarnath temple and the school surroundings. The Mayor of Meerut city, Shri Harikant Ahluwalia Ji graced the drive with his magnanimous presence. The venerable Mayor along with the School Principal, Ms. Alka Srivastava Gaur, Coordinators, teachers and students wholeheartedly participated in cleaning the surroundings of the temple and our school, promoting a sense of responsibility towards the community. The presence of Shri Harikant Ahluwalia ji, added as a source of motivation, and encouraged all to be more proactive in keeping their surroundings clean. This included sweeping, picking up litter, and cleaning. The event served as a great opportunity for the students to understand the importance of cleanliness and the impact it has on the environment.

The Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, rooted in Gandhian principles, was a resounding success as it not only promoted cleanliness and hygiene but also instilled values of self-reliance, community participation, and respect for all. This campaign serves as a testament to the enduring relevance of Gandhiji's ideals in today's world and reinforces the importance of leading a simple, clean, and community-centric life. The School Management remains committed to participate in such activities that echo these timeless values and contribute to the betterment of society and the environment and nurturing responsible citizens.
