Bal Ramayana — A Grand Celebration of Virtue, Valour and Eternal Values

Meerut Public School, Ved Vyas Puri celebrated Dussehra on 16th October 2026 with Bal Ramayana — Anant Gatha, a theatrical presentation that brought the epic of the Ramayana to life through performance, narration, music and stagecraft. The production celebrated the triumph of good over evil while drawing attention to the values and ideals that continue to give the Ramayana enduring relevance.

The occasion was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Pawan Sinha ‘Guruji’, Professor of Political Science, University of Delhi, and Guest of Honour Shri Charu Gobind Prabhu Ji, Temple Commander, ISKCON Meerut. The school alsowelcomed Mrs. Kusum Shastri, Co-Founder and President, MPS Group, and Ms. Madhu Sirohi, Member, Governing Council.

The programme commenced with a welcome ceremony and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The occasion also marked the release of the school magazine, celebrating the creativity and accomplishments of the school community.

Adding another dimension to the celebration, a series of Ramayana-themed tableaux was displayed across the school premises. Episodes including Sita Swayamvar, Shabari’s offering of berries and the Gurukul tradition of education were recreated through carefully designed installations, allowing visitors to engage with different aspects of the epic even before the main stage presentation began.

The highlight of the evening was Bal Ramayana — Anant Gatha, in which students portrayed the journey of Lord Rama through expressive performances, narration, music and elaborate stage sequences. The production traced key episodes from the Ramayana, culminating in Ravana’s defeat, Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya and his coronation. The presentation concluded with a Ramayana Aarti, bringing the performance to a reflective and devotional close.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Pawan Sinha ‘Guruji’ shared his interpretation of episodes from the Ramayana and encouraged students to look beyond the narrative to understand the ideas and choices embedded within it. Shri Charu Gobind Prabhu Ji spoke about the role of devotion, discipline and spiritual awareness in guiding one’s thoughts and actions. Their perspectives added depth to the evening and connected the epic’s teachings with contemporary life.

Principal Ms. Jyoti P. Vaidya appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers involved in the production and highlighted the importance of introducing young learners to India’s literary and cultural traditions through meaningful experiences.

Bal Ramayana — Anant Gatha brought together theatre, music, storytelling and visual interpretation, transforming the school campus into a celebration of the Ramayana and its enduring message of righteousness, courage and dharma.
