National Girl Child Day Celebration

"Though she be but little, she is fierce" �" William Shakespeare

India celebrates National Girl Child day each year on January 24. The day, an initiative of the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the government of India, focuses on the need to address the challenges that girls face in Indian society due to gender biases.

Meerut Public School, Ved Vyas Puri believes in the motto- Educate, Encourage, Empower! * and to fortify it National Girl Child Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and glee. An empowered woman, *Ms. Gurleen Kaur, under secretary, Ministry of External Affairs added more colours to the day by her presence.

She shared her tale of valour from being ordinary to extraordinary. She talked about prevailing influence of patriarchal values, right from birth, far too many girls bear the brunt of gender inequality and gender stereotypes.

Everyone present in the meeting were all ears and everyone exalted her.

Hon'ble Advisor Ma'am, Ms. Richa Sharma graced the occasion with her presence. In her address, she stated that she is waiting for the day when women rights will no longer be a matter of concern, we will be only talking about human rights.

Everyone returned with contentment and optimism and pledged to bridge the gender divide to build an inclusive & equal society.
