Group Discussion

What is a Group Discussion?

"Group" is a collection of individuals who have regular contact and frequent interaction and who work together to achieve a common set of goals. "Discussion" is the process whereby two or more people exchange information or ideas in a face-to-face situation to achieve a goal. The goal, or end product, maybe increased knowledge, agreement leading to action, disagreement leading to competition or resolution or perhaps only a clearing of the air or a continuation of the status-quo.

In simple terms, a group discussion is well known as GD. Generally, the group discussions are performed to assess the skill set of a person which includes communication skills, leadership skills, managing skills, team building skills, social skills, problem-solving skill and presence of mind.

To reinforce the aforementioned skills, on the occasion of World Mental Health Day, a Group Discussion Activity was conducted for the students of the senior wing wherein the students not only voiced their opinion but actively listened to the others' point of view on the topic "Is Social Media bad for our health?"

Our young debaters participated enthusiastically and put forth some scintillating facets on the topic which made the arena a treat to the sore eyes.
