”Patriotism consists not in waving the flag, but in striving that our country shall be righteous as well as strong.”

Indian Rebellion of 1857 was a major uprising in India in 1857�"58 against the rule of the British East India Company, which functioned as a sovereign power on behalf of the British Crown. The rebellion began on 10 May 1857 in the form of a mutiny of sepoys of the Company's army in the garrison town of Meerut.

To pay tribute to the martyrs of 1857, Meerut Public School, Vedvyaspuri conducted a special assembly on 9 May on the occasion of Kranti Diwas.

The day’s events comprised of the patriotic songs by the school choir which set the audience in a very spiritual and patriotic mood. This was followed by a speech on Kranti Diwas and an act presented by Class V students which enthralled everyone.

The honourable Principal, Mr. Rajeev Goel appreciated the patriotic feeling in the heart of the little ones and aroused a spark of nationality in them with his words of wisdom inspiring them to be always dedicated towards their motherland .
