Independence Day 2026: Celebrating Freedom With Pride

Meerut Public School, Ved Vyas Puri celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day paying tribute to the nation’s journey to freedom and the sacrifices of those who made it possible.

The programme commenced with a soulful mass singing of the National Song, bringing students together in a powerful expression of national pride. This was followed by the hoisting of the National Flag and the National Anthem, marking the occasion with dignity and reverence.

The cultural segment featured a presentation by the school choir, followed by a group dance celebrating India’s rich heritage and the spirit of freedom.

Addressing the gathering, Head Girl Anvita Jain reflected on the significance of Independence Day and reminded students that the freedoms they enjoy also bring a responsibility to contribute positively to the nation.

Principal Ms. Jyoti P. Vaidya further talked about the true meaning of freedom and encouraged students to honour the nation by embracing responsibility, discipline, integrity and excellence in their everyday lives.

The celebration concluded with a reminder that the legacy of Independence is carried forward not only by remembering the sacrifices of the past, but also by preparing young citizens to contribute thoughtfully to the India of tomorrow and take the nation To Greater Heights.
