International Yoga Day Celebration

Yoga is to be united with divinity acquiring physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.
One of the precious legacies of great Indian culture is Yoga - a way to refine soul and body, the complete transformation of one's persona.
As initiated by Honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and endorsed by UN, every year 21 June is marked as International Yoga Day since 2015 . This year the theme for the day is - "Yoga for well - being" - how the practice of Yoga can promote the holistic health of every individual all over the world. 
Following the guidelines of CBSE Board, MPGS Shastri Nagar celebrated International Yoga Day named as Yoga Mahotsav. The celebration continued for four days i.e.  from 18 June to 21 June. The theme for  First Day  was Physical Fitness , for Second Day - Social and Emotional Well Being and for Third Day - Balanced Diet . The finale was celebrated on 21 June in the presence of the   Chief  Guest for the event  Shri  Rajendra  Agarwal  MP Meerut,  the Guest of the Honour-   Shri  Bhusan Madan, the Yoga Guru, Shri  Vikramjeet Singh Shastri, MD, MPS Group, Mrs. Richa Sharma, Advisor MPS Group and Mrs. Sapna Ahuja, Principal .
The dignitaries were welcomed with the saplings of Tulsi. Mrs. Sapna Ahuja, Principal , prefaced the guests.
 Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, Shri Rajendra Agarwal said that Yoga is not only  a way to be healthy but also to meditate and to get "Moksh - the spiritual salvation". He advised all to add Yoga in their daily routine so that the people can be happy, healthy and closer to divinity.
Shri Vikramjeet Singh Shastri, MD, MPS Group appreciated  the Chief Guest for the welfare of the city . 

The finale was organized in two shifts following the protocol of social distancing due to the pandemic. Yoga Guru Shri Bhusan Madan Ji conducted the first shift for the students of class 4 to class 8. Yoga Teacher Ms. Vanya Sharma conducted the second shift in which the teachers practised different asanas like Pranayama , Kapalbhati, Sury Namaskar , Anulom Vilom etc.All the dignitaries present over there also participated in all activities.

All the Principals, teachers and students of MPS Group witnessed the culmination ceremony of Yoga Mahotsav through Zoom Meet .

The students of the classes 9 to 12 along with Primary Section virtually participated  in the celebration. 
The Online Quizzes and work shop for teachers, parents and students were virtually organised .

The intention was to promote the awareness amongst  the people about making Yoga as an effective way of life to enrich the world with healthier and active people who can be proven as the real assets of the society.
In an era of the pandemic , the importance of Yoga is quite relevant.
Mrs. Sapna Ahuja, Principal expressed her gratitude to all the dignitaries and motivated the students to make Yoga a part and parcel of their lives. The programme was hosted by Mrs.Vibha Gupta.
