National Sports Day Celebration

Since 2012, the birth anniversary of the Hockey - Wizard Major Dhyanchand Ji has been celebrated as the National Sports Day.

Meerut Public Girls' School Shastri Nagar also celebrated the 118th birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand as the 12th National Sports Day with great enthusiasm and vigour. On this day, a plethora of activities were conducted. The students from LKG to the class VIII participated in various races like Jack & Jill, Fruits Race, Cone Picking Shuttle Down Race, Smiley Race, Commando Race, Balloon Balancing Race, Footprint Race etc. Pyramid and Tug of the War were also the attractions of the event. Sarojini House emerged out as the winner of the Sports Day Competitions. Madam Principal appreciated all the participants and encouraged all the students to play Sports regularly to stay fit and fine physically and mentally. The event culminated with the vote of thanks proposed by the Sports Captain followed by the National Anthem.
