Yagna and Vedic Discourse on 'The Goal of Life'

Under the auspices of the school management, a sacred Havan ceremony was organized at Meerut Public Girls' School, Shastri Nagar, to foster Indian cultural values and positive energy among the students, centered around the theme of "The Goal of Life."

The programme began with the Havan, in which students and members of the school community participated by offering ahutis and praying for peace, prosperity, knowledge and good health. The proceedings were conducted by Mr. Rajesh Sethi Ji.

Pandit Shri Dinesh Pathak Ji explained the religious and cultural significance of the Havan and introduced students to its underlying values. Through devotional and patriotic songs, he also spoke about Indian culture, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati and the contribution of India’s freedom fighters.

Addressing the students, the keynote speaker, Acharya Hariprasad Ji, a Vedic scholar, reflected on the true purpose of education. He emphasised that education extends beyond academic achievement and should help young people develop integrity, a spirit of service and a sense of responsibility towards society. He also introduced students to aspects of Vedic culture and thought.

Acharya Shri Vachaspati Ji further spoke about the Vedas and encouraged students to understand the role of values in building a responsible and harmonious society.

The programme concluded with Mr. Rajesh Sethi Ji thanking all the attendees, followed by the distribution of prasad. Through the Yagna and accompanying discourse, students were introduced to India’s Vedic heritage while being encouraged to reflect on education, character and the larger purpose of life.
