Virtual Counselling Session

If there is any one secret of success , it lies in the ability to get the other person’s point of view and see things from that person’s angle as well as from your own.

Parents are the unsung heroes of every person that has ever done anything great and so to sow the seeds of greatness in lives of young minds . Continuous counselling of the parents is crucial as they learn to cope with their personal inadequacies and their feelings of guilt and stress.Changes and challenges in our child's environment can cause immense stress that can alter the way they function and interact . Aside from tending to the daily needs of the child, parents are also responsible for helping develop social skills, life skills and appropriate behaviour . Keeping this view in mind, Meerut Public Girls' School, Shastri Nagar, Meerut organised a Virtual Counselling Session for the parents of classes VI to VIII on 28 January , 2022 by Mrs Megha Sarin , accredited counsellor and former consultant at Fortis, Noida and presently working with Meerut Public School- Group whose unparalleled personalized support and holistic approach helped parents to navigate difficult phases by empowering them with the right tools and strategies to bridge gaps and achieve best possible outcome academically, emotionally, socially and personally.

The session focused on hugely benefiting the parents and helping the children as well. Madam Megha Sarin discussed the challenges in parenting in the difficult times of Covid-19 and the chaos being faced by the parents while managing work from all fields together . Authoritarian , authoritative and permissive styles of parenting were also discussed. The parents were guided to be good caretakers and to be approachable to their children, to be a team with their wards and to encourage family time. It is essential to be calm and composed before our children and make a routine for self and for the child. The children should be given space and small motivational rewards for their all round development .

The entire session was designed to make parents aware of building not just academic skills but also important life skills since it's rightly been said that Behind every confident and ethical child is a parent who said "you can!
