Anugoonj 2026: Celebrating Expression, Knowledge and Young Talent

MPGS, Shastri Nagar hosted Anugoonj 2026, an inter-school competition that brought together students from 13 schools across Meerut. Through competitions in poetry, reporting and quizzing, the event provided students with a platform to express original ideas, test their knowledge and demonstrate their abilities before an eminent panel of judges.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a floral tribute to the Founder, Late Shri Tarachand Shastri Ji. Col. Gyan Singh Tomar, Director – Academics & Systems, MPS Group, and Principal Mrs. Sapna Ahuja welcomed the Chief Guests, Mr. Saurabh Gangwar, IAS, Municipal Commissioner, Meerut, and Mr. Sanjay Kumar Meena, Vice Chairman, Meerut Development Authority. Dr. Birpal Singh, Proctor and Head, Department of Physics, CCS University, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. The judging panel included Mr. Manoj Srivastava, Associate Professor, CCSU, and Mrs. Swati Tyagi, practising Chartered Accountant and author.


Three competitions were conducted simultaneously at different venues. Kavyaanjali invited students of Classes VI to VIII to present original poetry, while Samachar Shiromani saw students of Classes VII and VIII step into the role of young reporters. Buddhi Manthan, for Classes IV and V, tested participants on the life and philosophy of Rabindranath Tagore. A skill-based exhibition prepared by students complemented the competitions by showcasing their creative and practical work.


The programme was anchored by students Manya, Ritima, Zafra, Aisha and Aradhya, who conducted the proceedings with confidence and poise.

·  Second: Aarav Gupta & Rudransh Garg – MPS Ved Vyas Puri

·  Third: Advika Pant & Kasvi – Diwan Public School


The winners were felicitated with medals and certificates. MPS Ved Vyas Puri lifted the Rolling Trophy, securing the highest cumulative score across the three competitions.


In his concluding address, Dr. Birpal Singh congratulated the participants and spoke about the value of co-curricular opportunities in helping students discover their abilities beyond the classroom. He encouraged them to participate actively in such platforms and continue broadening their experiences.


Anugoonj 2026 concluded as a celebration of student expression and intellectual engagement, bringing young learners from across the city together to compete, interact and learn from one another.
