Inter House Halloween Costume Competition

"Halloween wraps fear in innocence, as though it were a slightly sour sweet. Let terror, then, be turned into a treat".

Halloween is a fun day observed in various parts of the world on the 31st of October every year. In ancient European traditions, people lit bonfires and dressed as ghosts believing that this would ward off evil spirits. The celebration of Halloween is therefore associated with the idea of good fortune.

'Role Play is one of the most important tools of learning, particularly at the Primary level.

Keeping in mind the resonance of the above-mentioned words, Meerut Public Girls' School, Shastri Nagar, organized an Inter house 'Halloween Costume Competition' for the students of class III on 31st October 2022. The event was graced by Honourable Principal Ma'am, Mrs Sapna Ahuja. It was a delight from start to finish with the participants, in an array of glittering costumes including that of 'Witch', 'Vampire', 'Pennywise Joker', and 'Billy The Puppet', mouthing famous dialogues, leaving the audience enthralled. The competition brought an amiable ambience.

The judges for the show, Mrs Akansha Grover and Mrs Ritu Kohin appreciated and applauded all the participants.

The students got the opportunity to trick or treat. They also shared information about the characters they depicted.

All the participants gave each other tough competition. Sarojini House, Ahilya House and Maitreyi House bagged the first, second and third positions respectively.

Spontaneity and confidence were the hallmarks of the competition. Indeed it was a good exposure and learning experience for the students.
