National Reading Day 2025

“Books give a Soul to the Universe, Wings to the Mind, Flight to the Imagination, and Life to Everything”

National Reading Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Meerut Public School, Main Wing to honour the legacy of P.N. Panicker, the father of the Library Movement in India, and to promote the joy of reading among all age groups.

The celebration witnessed active participation from students, teachers, admin staff and even the maintenance staff, who read their favourite books and shared heartwarming pictures of themselves engrossed in reading. Students were especially encouraged to read with their grandparents, and many touching photos of shared reading moments were received.

In addition, students recorded short videos talking about their favourite books and what made them special. A Google Meet session was also conducted, where students were apprised of the significance of the day and invited to speak briefly about the books they loved and why they connected with them.

The day truly reinforced the spirit of “Read and Grow”, creating a shared reading culture across the school community.
