National Mathematics Day

"Mathematics is the door and key to all sciences."

In an effort to lay a strong foundation of Mathematics , MPS Main Wing organized Math Week for Mpiets from 16th December to 22nd December,2022.

The purpose of organising the Maths week , was to teach the students about basic Mathematics in a simple and playful manner. A plethora of activities was planned for the students during the week , to lay emphasis on Maths in everyday life. The students were involved in various fun filled activities like - Mental Maths Quiz, Mathematical Skit, Poster making activity, Dance, Puzzles, etc. A speech on the biography of Srinivasa Ramanujam was delivered ,to enlighten the students about his substantial contributions to the world of Mathematics. The students were also briefed about *"How to overcome the fear of Mathematics"* They were guided to convert their negativities into positivities through application of Mathematics.

The week long activities were conducted during special assemblies to enhance logical reasoning, critical thinking, problem solving ability and effective communication skills among students.

The School Principal, Dr. Shikha Koak appreciated the efforts of all the students as well as teachers for making Maths week , a success and in intriguing the students about the exciting world of Mathematics. She motivated the students by concluding

*"Maths is all about becoming a creative thinker, not a CALCULATOR."*
