Reading Mahotsav 2021

"Books give a Soul to the Universe, Wings to the Mind,
Flight to the Imagination, and Life to Everything"

The Hon'ble Management of Meerut Public School (Group) ensures that learning never ends and tries to devise new and innovative ways for effective learning amongst students. The Reading Mahotsav from 4th - 9th August has especially been organized for the students to expose them to the world of books and learn the importance and benefits of inculcating reading habits.

The Reading Mahotsav was inaugurated with a special Webinar of Students' Council and Editorial Board members with the alumni of MPS Main Wing who have marked their presence in the literary world. Our Guests of Honour Akshi Agarwal, IT Operations Manager at IKEA, Sweden and Abeer Athar, an internationally acclaimed poet, mentored the students how to venture into the field of writing. They apprised them about the benefits of reading as it helps in enhancing their knowledge, perspective, creativity and imaginative skills. The Managing Director Sir Mr. Vikramjeet Singh Shastri asked the students to lead by example and devote half an hour to reading everyday. The Adviser Ma'am Mrs. Richa Sharma was delighted to see the two iillustrious alumni blossom into such mature adults and encouraged all the students to read as it is a stress buster. The School Principal Dr. Shikha Koak thanked the guests for sparing their valuable time and mentoring the students with their inspirational words.

The teachers in the Primary Wing made their story telling session more enjoyable by using finger puppets, origami puppets, socks and stick puppets while narrating moral stories to the children. The students from Middle Section read tales from prominent authors like Shakespeare and Lewis Carroll.

A plethora of interesting and engaging activities have been planned throughout the week for students to enhance their inquisitiveness and imagination.
