National Consumer Day 2021

“Instead of gutting consumer protection, we should be expanding it” - Hillary Clinton

National Consumer Day was celebrated on 24th December at Meerut Public School, Main Wing to apprise the students about the rights and responsibilities of a consumer. A skit was organized by the Commerce Club in the morning assembly to make the students aware of their right to seek redressal against unethical trade practices or unscrupulous exploitation of consumers.

The young brigade of the Commerce Club was at its creative best and caught the rapt attention of the audience, mirroring the concerns of the society. The skit with all its humour and witty dialogues received a lot of likes and appreciative comments from the students as well as the teachers. The thunderous applause received by the students was testimony of their hard work and dedication in creating a powerful message.

The School Principal Dr. Shikha Koak praised HOD (Commerce) Mr. Ahmed Ansari and the entire Commerce Department for their efforts in putting up a great show and helping to generate consumer awareness among other students as well.

An informative video was also shared with all the Class Groups about the Consumer Protection Act, various rights of the consumers, offline and online redressal system, advantages of online transactions/payments and tips for safe online shopping and digital payments.

Undoubtedly, “Consumer accountability drives quality and efficiency”.
