National Mathematics Day 2021

"Pure Mathematics is, in its own way, the poetry of logical ideas. It gives us hope that every problem has a solution and the only way to learn Mathematics is to practice it".

National Mathematics Day is celebrated every year on December 22 to recognise the achievements of the great Indian Mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan who was born on this date in the year 1887. In 2012, the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh declared December 22 as National Mathematics Day.

To apprise the students about the day and to encourage them to stretch their knowledge horizons and look beyond what they are taught in class, a virtual inter class mathematics quiz was conducted at Meerut Public School, Main Wing.

The intelligent minds used their logical thinking, reasoning ability along with observational and analytical skills with immense enthusiasm and excitement to solve the tricky questions.

After a tough fight, Nishita (XI) and Mansi (IX) from Team Shakuntala Devi emerged as winners.

In the end, the experts guided the students with the tricks to solve the questions at a faster pace. It was a great learning experience and students enjoyed it thoroughly .

The entire activity enabled students to think out of the box, promoted team play, improved their knowledge and built healthy competitive spirit. The winners were also awarded with e-certificates.
