Gandhi Jayanti

October 2 is celebrated as the birth anniversaries of two most important figures of the Indian history - Mahatma Gandhi (Father of the Nation) and Lal Bahadur Shastri (2nd Prime Minister)) every year in India. The story of their life has been an inspiration to many people and impacted humanity to its core. To revere this day, a special assembly was organized by the Junior Mpiets on October 1, 2021 to commemorate the Mahatma's life and teachings. Mahatma Gandhi or more lovingly known as Bapu by all Indians is internationally acknowledged for his doctrine of non-violence that led India to its glorious freedom. The choir sung Gandhi's favourite bhajan 'Vaishnav Janto' and 'Raghupati Raghav' with full exuberance.

The students threw some light on Gandhi Jayanti with a special speech that brought the gathering to understand more about this iconic leader. Gandhian ideals were depicted through a Street Play which the students presented in the most eloquent manner.

To induce a sense of Gandhian value of cleanliness among the students, activities like Poster making, Cleaning their room and study table/shelves were conducted. Students also watched a Documentary on 'Bapu' to understand who this great person was and how he led a simple life. All our students were imbued with Gandhi ji's values and thoughts and vowed to become upstanding citizens of India and this World.
