Capacity Building Programme in Chemistry

Meerut Public School for Girls hosted a transformative two-day chemistry workshop on May 29th and 30th, led by distinguished resource persons Ms. Sumati Anand, M.Sc., M.Tech (IIT Delhi), M.Ed, and Ms. Poonam Mendiratta. The comprehensive workshop aimed to enhance educators' knowledge and teaching methodologies in the field of chemistry.

Teachers from various schools within the city actively participated in this capacity-building program, aimed at fostering profound connections with students and encouraging their active involvement in the learning process. During the workshop, Ms. Anand and Ms. Mendiratta engaged participants in insightful discussions about the future career pathways available to students in the field of chemistry. They provided valuable insights into potential salary prospects and career growth opportunities, empowering educators for better guiding their students.

The discussions revolved around various teaching methodologies aligned with the National Curriculum Framework. Concepts such as the flipped classroom, demonstration method, and analytical method were thoroughly explored and discussed, with a focus on integrating them effectively into the curriculum.

Interactive sessions explored topics such as Venn diagrams, Fishbone diagrams, and De Bono's thinking hats, empowering educators to design curricula with innovation and depth. Practical aspects, including strategies to minimize chemical costs and ensure safety through proper usage, were also addressed through engaging demonstrations.

Principal Ms. Rachna Sharma extended her heartfelt gratitude to the resource persons for their invaluable contributions, highlighting the school's dedication to improving educational standards through tailored professional development. As educators, we go beyond academics to prepare students for their future careers.
