ACADEMICS AND CURRICULUM – MPSFG

At Meerut Public School for Girls (MPSFG), education is viewed as a journey of consistent progress where academic learning is integrated with discipline, values, and practical exposure. The school curriculum is aligned with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) and CBSE guidelines, ensuring that students receive an education that is modern, structured, and value-based.

I. Teaching and Learning (TL) and NCFSE

MPSFG follows a learner-centred teaching and learning system where the focus is on creating an engaging classroom environment.

Key Features of TL Practices at MPSFG:

  • Curriculum Alignment: Teaching strategies are based on NCFSE recommendations to build conceptual understanding, not rote learning.

  • Differentiated Learning: Teachers plan lessons keeping in mind different learner abilities.

  • Methodology:

  • Interactive methods: group discussions, debates, role plays, brainstorming.

  • Technology integration: use of smart boards, online resources, and presentations.

  • Experiential learning: field trips, case studies, projects, and practicals.

  • Use of diagrammatic and visual aids: flow charts, process diagrams, and whiteboard-based teaching for clarity.

21st-Century Skills: Focus on communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and digital literacy.

Value Integration: Every lesson includes aspects of ethics, environmental sensitivity, and cultural appreciation.

Thus, the teaching-learning process at MPSFG is designed to make students academically strong and socially responsible.

II. Formative Assessments (FAs) and Summative Assessments (SAs)

Assessment at MPSFG is continuous and comprehensive, designed to test knowledge, skills, and attitudes.

Formative Assessments (FAs):

  • Conducted throughout the year in all subjects.

  • Purpose: assessment of learning and assessment as learning to improve teaching-learning process.

  • Tools used: pen and paper, quizzes, class discussions, assignments, oral tests, presentations, projects, activity-based tasks, practical work, and peer evaluation.

  • Benefits: Provides feedback to both students and teachers for improvement.

Summative Assessments (SAs):

  • Conducted at the end of each term (Half-Yearly and Final).

  • Pattern: Written examinations, practical assessments, and project submissions.

  • Purpose: To evaluate overall learning outcomes, retention, and application of knowledge.

  • Design: Based on CBSE norms and the NCERT syllabus with a mix of objective and descriptive questions.

Assessment Policy Highlights:

  • Both FAs and SAs are mandatory for promotion.

  • Marks are supplemented with grades to reduce examination stress.

  • Special emphasis is given to internal assessment and project-based evaluation as per CBSE guidelines.

  • Reports are regularly shared with parents for transparency.

III. Sports

MPSFG strongly believes that sports and physical education are vital for character building and discipline.

Facilities Available:

  • Outdoor: basketball, skating, football, athletics, kho-kho, and boxing

  • Indoor: table tennis, chess, yoga, aerobics, badminton, and carrom.

  • Separate sports periods in the timetable for every class.

Training and Coaching:

  • Professional coaches for major games.

  • Regular practice sessions for inter-house and inter-school competitions.

  • Fitness and yoga sessions for all classes to promote stamina and concentration.

Participation:

  • Students compete at inter-house, inter-school, the district, state, and national levels.

Values through Sports:

  • Builds sportsmanship, discipline, and resilience.

  • Teaches leadership, teamwork, and time management.

  • Provides an outlet for stress and improves concentration in academics.

  • Sports are not optional but an integral part of the MPSFG curriculum, ensuring that every student participates in some physical activity.

IV. Student Attendance and Discipline (NSO Policy-salient aspects)

At MPSFG, discipline and attendance are closely monitored to ensure consistency in learning.

Attendance Policy

  • 75% attendance is compulsory for appearing in the final examination.

  • Attendance is marked daily and parents are notified in case of irregularity through CampusCare app.

  • Absence must be supported with a leave application.

  • Long absence without prior permission may result in disciplinary action.

  • Students must attend all important school events such as Independence Day, Sports Day, and Founders’ Day.

Discipline Policy (NSO Framework):

  • Students must wear the prescribed uniform neatly and with pride.

  • Respect towards teachers, staff, and peers is expected at all times.

  • Bullying, misconduct, or use of inappropriate language will not be tolerated.

  • Students are trained in self-discipline rather than punishment. Counselling is the first step for corrective action.

  • For repeated indiscipline, parents are called, and serious cases are reported to the Disciplinary Committee.

The NSO policy emphasises self-control, punctuality, responsibility, and respect as lifelong values.

V. Promotion and Detention

Promotion and detention at MPSFG are based on comprehensive academic performance, discipline, and attendance.

Promotion Policy:

  • Promotion is not based on examination results alone, but on overall, year-long performance.

  • Criteria include:

  1. Performance in FAs and SAs.

  2. Participation in projects, practicals, and activities.

  3. Regularity, punctuality, and discipline.

  • Students must secure minimum qualifying grades in each subject as per CBSE norms.

  • Cases of learning difficulty are handled with class interventions and counselling before finalising promotion decisions.

Detention Policy:

  • Detention is a last resort, and is only used when a student fails to meet basic academic and attendance requirements.

  • Students with less than 75% attendance or persistent poor performance despite remedial efforts may not be promoted.

  • Parents are involved throughout the process with regular updates.

  • The focus is to support the child’s progress rather than penalise.

This ensures that every student who is promoted is academically prepared and emotionally ready for the next class.

2. Use of School ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and GC LMS (Google Classroom Learning Management System)

The school makes effective use of School ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) through CampusCare by Campus and Google Classroom (GC LMS – Learning Management System) to ensure smooth communication and academic support for students and parents.

The ERP system (CampusCare) reflects the complete student profile, including personal details, parent information, attendance, fee records, report cards, and other important updates. It acts as a one-stop platform where parents can easily access all information related to their ward.

On the academic side, Google Classroom (LMS) provides an interactive digital platform where teachers regularly upload study materials, assignments, circulars, assessment schedules and grades. This ensures that both parents and students are always informed about academic progress and school activities. Students can also submit their work online, participate in discussions, and receive timely feedback from teachers.

Together, CampusCare ERP and Google Classroom LMS create a seamless blend of transparency, technology, and teaching excellence, keeping parents actively connected with the school and supporting students’ overall growth.

3. School Fees Payment Policy

The school has adopted a fully digital fee payment system to ensure ease, accuracy, and transparency for parents. All financial transactions are managed exclusively through the School ERP – CampusCare by Campus, eliminating the need for physical counters or cash handling.

1. Mode of Payment

  • All school fees are to be paid exclusively through the School ERP – CampusCare.

  • Parents can log in to their CampusCare account and make payments using net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.

  • Digital receipts are automatically generated after each transaction and can be downloaded for records.

2. Payment Schedule

  • The annual fee structure along with due dates is shared with parents at the beginning of the academic year on the School Website.

  • The School offers a discount of 5% on one time full payment for the complete session, if paid by 30 April of that particular session (subject to change on the discretion of the Management).

  • Monthly Fee should be paid by the 10th of each month.

  • Timely reminders are sent through ERP notifications, Google Classroom (LMS), and school circulars.

3. Late Fee Policy

  • The name of the child is liable to be struck off the rolls in case of non-payment of dues by the fourth month and the student will be asked to seek readmission after paying the charges.

  • Continuous non-payment may result in withholding of report cards, examination results, or access to ERP until dues are cleared.

  • Parents are kindly advised to adhere to deadlines to avoid late charges.

4. Refunds & Adjustments

  • Fees once paid are non-refundable and non-transferable, except in special cases approved by school management.

  • Any adjustments related to scholarships, concessions, or sibling discounts (if applicable) are reflected directly in the ERP system.

5. Transparency for Parents

  • The ERP student profile reflects complete details of payments made, pending dues, and downloadable receipts.

  • Parents can log in anytime to check their ward’s financial records, ensuring complete clarity and transparency.

6. Benefits of Digital Fee Payment

  • Safe, secure, and cashless system.

  • 24×7 accessibility for parents to pay from anywhere.

  • Instant receipt generation for records.

  • Reduced manual errors and complete accountability.

7. Support and Assistance

  • In case of any technical issues while making online payments, parents may reach out to the Accounts Office through the ERP Helpdesk.

  • Dedicated support ensures that queries are resolved promptly without any disruption.

By adopting this cashless, digital-first approach, the school aims to make the fee payment process convenient, secure, and transparent for all parents, thereby strengthening trust and ensuring smooth functioning of academic and co-curricular activities.

4. CBSE Data and LOC (List of Candidates)

The school strictly adheres to the guidelines of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for managing student data and preparing the List of Candidates (LOC) for Classes IX to XII. This process ensures accuracy, transparency, and compliance at every stage.

1. Collection of Data

  • Student details such as full name, date of birth, gender, category, parents’ names, address, subject choices, and language options are collected from the admission records and verified.

  • All data is updated in the School ERP (CampusCare) for record-keeping.

2. Verification by Parents and Teachers

  • A copy of each student’s data is shared with parents for verification.

  • Parents are requested to carefully check spellings, subject combinations, and personal details.

  • Class teachers cross-check the information with admission and academic records to avoid errors.

3. Correction Process

  • In case of any error or mismatch, parents submit a request for correction along with supporting documents (birth certificate, Aadhaar card, etc.).

  • The class teacher reviews and updates the corrections before final entry.

4. Preparation of LOC

  • The school compiles the finalised data into the List of Candidates (LOC) as per CBSE format.

  • This list includes students’ subjects, codes, categories, and personal details, which become the official record for board examinations.

5. Submission to CBSE

  • The LOC is uploaded online on the CBSE portal within the prescribed deadline.

  • Once submitted, no changes are permitted except under special approval by CBSE.

6. Final Confirmation

  • Admit cards, roll numbers, and board examination details are generated by CBSE based on the submitted LOC.

  • Parents and students are reminded that any error at this stage cannot be rectified; hence the importance of careful verification earlier.

DigiLocker Facility by CBSE

CBSE has partnered with DigiLocker (Government of India initiative) to provide students with secure, digital academic documents. After the declaration of results, students can instantly access their:

  • Marksheet

  • Passing Certificate

  • Migration Certificate

Key Points for Parents and Students:

  • DigiLocker account is linked to the student’s Aadhaar/mobile number registered with CBSE.

  • Login details and instructions are shared by CBSE before results are announced.

  • These digital certificates are legally valid and can be used for admission, verification, and future reference.

  • Students are encouraged to activate their DigiLocker accounts in advance to ensure smooth access.

By carefully managing CBSE Data, LOC, and DigiLocker integration, the school ensures that students’ records are error-free, accessible, and future-ready, supporting their academic journey without hurdles.
