International Tiger Day

Tiger is a royal and majestic animal which plays a vital role in maintaining the health and diversity of an ecosystem. It is a top predator and sits at the apex of the food chain. Tigers contribute by keeping the population of wild ungulates in check, therefore the balance of prey herbivores and the vegetation upon which they feed is maintained. The cutting down of trees which leads to habitat loss, hunting, and illegal trading of tiger's body parts are some of the prime factors behind the decline in tiger population.

29 July holds a historical significance as an awareness submit was held on this day in Russia about the decreasing tiger population globally and preserving the natural habitat of tigers.

International Tiger Day celebrated on July 29 aims at spreading awareness about tigers and their conservation to ensure this species survival

In accordance with the same initiative the children in MPSFG OBSERVED THE DAY IN THEIR OWN SPECIAL WAY

The kindergarten section enjoyed the day by wearing the tigers costume and watching an animated story about tigers. They also learnt  some new words like carnivores or endangered.

Classes 1 to XII were also shown videos and ppt.  A healthy interaction regarding the issues of pollution, deforestation, poaching habitat loss and ecological instability flowed between the teacher and the children

As we celebrate this international tiger day, let's raise our awareness by taking a look at some of the ways we could protect the Tiger as a citizen. After all it is the harmonious coexistence that shall sustain the ecological balance.
