Human Rights Day

*"To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity." - Nelson Manadela*

Human Rights Day is observed every year on 10 December. On this day, The United Nations General Assembly adopted, in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The UDHR is a milestone document, which proclaims the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

To commemorate this day and to raise awareness among the young generation, MPSTFS observed a Special Assembly wherein the students were acknowledged with the theme this year *Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All*. The students presented a short skit highlighting how the basic rights are repressed by the powerful. The students made it loud and clear through their effective performance that the human rights belong equally to each of us and bind us together as a global community with the same ideals and values.

Addressing on the occasion, Madam Principal, Ms Sonu Sahni applauded the efforts of students and added that we need to be sensitise people around the various rights that are needed for leading a dignified life.
