Meerut Public School, The First Step prioritizes a well-rounded education, integrating academics with discipline, values, and practical exposure. The school curriculum aligns with the *National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) and CBSE guidelines.*

Teaching and Learning Practices:

  •  Learner-Centred Approach: Engaging classroom environment with interactive methods, technology integration, experiential learning, forms of Visual Arts, digital art, performing arts (story telling, puppetry, dramatics, music, dance, and movement) and Physical Education (PE) focuses on developing motor skills, physical fitness, and social qualities like teamwork and sportsmanship through a variety of activities including yoga, games, and sports.
  •  Differentiated Learning: Lessons planned according to individual learner abilities.
  •  21st-Century Skills: Focus on communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and digital literacy.
  •  Value Integration: Ethics, environmental sensitivity, and cultural appreciation are incorporated into every lesson.


Assessments

  •  Formative Assessments (FAs): Conducted throughout the year in all the subjects to monitor progress and provide regular feedback. As per CBSE guidelines, FAs are:

• Continuous and diagnostic.
• Conducted using varied tools - pen and paper, quizzes, projects, oral work, observation
• Helpful in identifying learning gaps and providing feedback.
• Flexible and child-centric.
• Integrated with teaching for holistic development with a goal to make learning an enjoyable and effective experience, ensuring better retention and improved performance.

  •  Summative Assessments (SAs): Held at the end of each term to evaluate overall learning outcomes, As per CBSE guidelines, SAs:

• Assess the extent of students' learning against set benchmarks.
• Use formal tools like written exams, projects, and practicals.
• Test understanding, application, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Provide a comprehensive report of scholastic achievement.

  • Holistic Progress Card (HPC)

 The Holistic Progress Card (HPC) is a comprehensive, 360-degree assessment tool for students, designed to move beyond traditional grades. It provides a multidimensional report of a child's progress across cognitive, affective, socio-emotional, and psychomotor domains, focusing on the acquisition of learning and life skills, values, and competencies rather than rote memorization.

  •  Assessment Policy: Both FAs and SAs are mandatory for promotion, with an emphasis on internal assessment and project-based evaluation as per CBSE guidelines.

Sports and Physical Education

  •  Facilities: Outdoor sports like karate, skating, and kho-kho, and indoor activities like table tennis, chess, and yoga.
  •  Training and Coaching: Professional coaches for karate and skating, with regular practice sessions for inter-house and inter-school competitions.
  •  Participation :

Students compete at inter-house, inter-school, the district, state, and national levels.

  •  Values: Sportsmanship, discipline, resilience, leadership, teamwork, and time management.

Student Discipline Policy and  NSO:

1. NSO conditions for students
 Student absent from the beginning of an  academic session.

  • Absence amounting to 15 days of school missed( Sundays and holidays excluded) may result in disciplinary action.
  • Absence must be supported with a leave application.
  • 75% attendance is compulsory for appearing in the final examination.
  • Attendance is marked daily and parents are notified in case of irregularity through CampusCare app.
  • Students must attend all important school events such as Independence Day, Sports Day, and Founders' Day.students' absence from the school in the beginning of the session for 14 consecutive days would be considered as NSO(Name Struck Off) with no update of status from the Parents' or Guardians side.
  •  Students must wear the prescribed  uniform.
  •  Emphasis on self-discipline, respect towards teachers and peers, and zero tolerance for bullying or misconduct.

Promotion and Detention

  • Promotion Policy: Based on overall performance, participation, regularity, punctuality, and discipline.
  •  Detention Policy: Used as a last resort for students failing to meet basic academic and attendance requirements.

School ERP and LMS

  •  CampusCare ERP: Manages student profiles, attendance, fee records, and progress cards. It acts as a one-stop platform where parents can easily access all information related to their ward.
  •  Google Classroom LMS: Provides an interactive digital platform for teachers to upload study materials, assignments, and grades.

Together, CampusCare ERP and Google Classroom LMS create a seamless blend of transparency, technology, and teaching excellence, keeping parents actively connected with the school and supporting students' overall growth.

Fee Payment Policy

  • Digital Payment System: Exclusive online payment system with automatic receipt generation and transparency for parents after each transaction.
  •  Payment Schedule: Annual fee structure shared with parents at the beginning of the academic year.
  •  The School offers a discount of 5% on one time full payment for the complete session, if paid by 30 April of that particular session (subject to change on the discretion of the Management).
  • Monthly Fee should be paid by the 10th of each month.
  • Timely reminders are sent through ERP notifications, Google Classroom (LMS), and school circulars.
  •  Late Fee Policy: Non-payment of dues may result in the student's name being struck off from the rolls or withholding report cards and examination results.

Refunds & Adjustments

Fees once paid are non-refundable and non-transferable, except in special cases approved by school management.
Any adjustments related to scholarships, concessions, or sibling discounts (if applicable) are reflected directly in the ERP system.

Transparency for Parents

The ERP student profile reflects complete details of payments made, pending dues, and downloadable receipts.
Parents can log in anytime to check their ward's financial records, ensuring complete clarity and transparency.
