CURRICULUM

School curriculum at Meerut Public School, The First Step is an organized set of arrangements intended to achieve the aims of School Education as per NCFSE. The vision of education articulated would be achieved by school education by inculcating in learners, desirable values and dispositions, capacities, and knowledge. The curriculum integrates digital literacy using Smart Panels, Open Door Assessment at Preparatory Stage for Mathematics and Science with hands-on worksheets and Google Classroom to promote effective and paperless communication with parents.


FOUNDATIONAL STAGE CURRICULUM


  1. The NCF for the Foundational Stage (NCFFS) is developed based on the vision of the NEP 2020.
  2. The curriculum promotes active learning, play- based pedagogies including Jadui Pitara tailored for children between the age group of 3-8.
  3. Hands- on experiences to ignite children's natural curiosity and love for learning.
  4. To develop vital skills, foster learning, and promote holistic development.
  5. It involves acquiring numeracy skills, language, and communication skills, motor skills, problem-solving competencies, and social -emotional competencies.

PREPARATORY AND MIDDLE STAGE CURRICULUM


  1. The Preparatory and Middle Stage curriculum is based on NCFSE 2023.
  2. It aims to ensure personality development of the students through interaction, which strengthens all aspects of their character, from intellectual to interpersonal, emotional, artistic, and physical.
  3. The aim is cognitive development, building character, and creating holistic and well-rounded individuals equipped with key 21st-century skills.
  4. It focuses on critical learning objectives, which is a significant departure from the rote learning methods.
  5. Teachers encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration to promote holistic child development.
  6. Besides academic learning, extracurricular activities are encouraged to nurture students’ diverse talents and interests.
  7. Emphasis on importance of character development, instilling values such as respect, empathy, and integrity.
  8. Integrated teaching to real-world experiences and provide concrete applications to knowledge and skills.
  9. Creativity, Collaboration and Innovation in teaching and learning.

HOLISTIC PROGRESS CARD (HPC)


Holistic Progress Card (HPC) is to provide a 360 degree, multidimensional report of progress that reflects in detail the progress as well as the uniqueness of each learner in the cognitive, affective, socio-emotional, and psychomotor domains throughout the year.


  • It will include self-assessment and peer assessment, and progress of the child in project-based and inquiry-based learning, quizzes, role plays, group work, portfolios, etc. along with teacher assessment.
  • It will form an important link between home and school and will be accompanied by parent-teacher meetings in order to actively involve parents in their ward’s holistic development.
  • It maps the status of each child’s learning for Foundational Literacy and Numeracy skills.
  • It will present a picture of a student’s progress.
  • Help teachers to identify not only the gaps but also assist in solving multidimensional issues in schools ranging from child-teacher engagement, progress in learning, drop-out rate and barriers to learning.
  • It will communicate the strengths and areas of improvement for each child.
  • To provide direction to both the teacher and the child in terms of future action.
  • To provide a baseline level for each student in various learning outcomes and competencies before the beginning of each term/session.

PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION- MEETINGS


Meetings are scheduled regularly in the school to encourage interaction with Parents and apprise them of their ward's overall progress. The meetings facilitate better understanding of the child and mutual cooperation between the School and Parents, to ensure all round development of the child.

  • It is mandatory for Parents/ Guardian designated to attend every Parent Teacher Meeting and interact with all the teachers concerned to take complete feedback of their ward's performance.
  • No Brothers, Neighbours or Uncles will be entertained on PTM.
  • Students to wear school uniform only while accompanying their parents for PTM.
