Child Safety and POCSO Awareness Session at MPGS Shastri Nagar

Under the Government of India’s Mission Shakti initiative, Meerut Public Girls’ School, Shastri Nagar organised an awareness session on the POCSO Act, 2012 and Child Safety for students of Classes V to XII on 14th October 2026.

The session was conducted by Ms. Suman Singh, POCSO Resource Person, who guided students on personal safety, legal rights, recognising inappropriate behaviour and seeking timely help. Students were encouraged to communicate clearly when they feel uncomfortable and to report concerns to trusted adults such as parents or teachers.

The session also covered online safety, including the importance of protecting personal information and maintaining safe boundaries in digital spaces. Students were informed about the Child Helpline Number 1098 and the support systems available to them.

Ms. Singh also introduced the 3H Formula — Hand, Head and Heart — explaining the importance of self-protection, timely decision-making and emotional awareness in situations that may feel unsafe or uncomfortable.

Concluding the session, Principal Mrs. Sapna Ahuja thanked the resource person and emphasised the importance of helping students understand their rights, recognise unsafe situations and know where to seek support.
