MPS Student Code of Conduct
Where Discipline Meets Excellence

At Meerut Public School, we believe that discipline is the first step toward success. Our school culture is built on responsibility, respect, and a commitment to holistic growth. To maintain a safe, enriching, and future-ready environment, all students are expected to follow the guidelines outlined below.

General Conduct

  • Uniform & Appearance: Students must wear the complete school uniform on all working days and school functions. Jewellery, cosmetics (including kajal), and expensive accessories are not permitted. Boys must maintain short hair.
  • Punctuality: Timely arrival is essential; late entry will not be permitted after the bell.
  • Movement & Assembly: Students must assemble silently at the first bell and move between classes in an orderly manner.
  • Campus Restrictions: Lunch boxes will not be accepted during school hours. Visitors, including parents, are not allowed during working hours.
  • Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, gadgets, and objectionable materials are strictly banned.
  • Respect for Property: Scribbling or damaging school property is a punishable offence.
  • Language Policy: English is the medium of communication on campus. Excessive use of Hindi may affect performance grades.
  • Behaviour & Respect: ⁠Courtesy towards teachers, peers, and staff is mandatory. Acts of indiscipline may lead to strict action.


Academic Expectations

  • Minimum Performance: Students must maintain at least 60% marks throughout the session to qualify for concessions or scholarships.
  • Homework & Participation: Regular homework and active class engagement are expected.
  • Parent–Teacher Meetings: Attendance at PTMs is compulsory.
  • Promotion Policy: ⁠All promotion and detention decisions rest solely with the school.


Attendance & Leave Policy

  • Attendance Goal: 100% attendance is encouraged. A minimum of 90% is required for promotion.
  • Leave Application: Leave must be submitted in writing, signed by parents, and handed to the Class Teacher the following day.
  • Half-Day Policy: No short leave will be granted except in medical emergencies.
  • Absence Rules:⁠ Absence without leave or on reopening days may result in removal from the rolls.
  • Monitoring: For Classes V–VIII, absence exceeding 5 days in a month will be closely monitored.


Safety & Conduct

  • Transport Safety: Students using bicycles must follow traffic rules
  • Accountability: The school is not responsible for accidents due to indiscipline or safety violations.


School Representation:

  • Students must uphold the dignity of MPS through disciplined behaviour, punctuality, and neat appearance—both on and off campus.
