The 3rd Annual Sports Meet 'ALTIUS 2019'

Meerut Public School, Vedvyaspuri is cognizant of the prominence of Sports for the
holistic development of young people. Aimed at shaping well-groomed individuals, quality
health and physical education programs are an elemental part of the school curriculum. The
morning of Thursday, November 21, 2019 emulated more brightness and jubilation as the
Management, Staff and Parents of Students of Classes LKG to 11 gathered in the school
ground to witness the young MPSiets exhibit their mastery of skills and concepts in
physical wellbeing through the MPSians Funtathlon.

The much awaited the 3rd Annual Sports Day- Altius 2019-20 was conducted with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere.
The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the Principal, Ms. Bela Chadha.

The Chief Guest of the event was Former Indian Cricketer Mr. Praveen Kumar.
The show began with Yoga on Shiva Tandav and the Dancing Salute on the tune of "We will rock you." The Welcome Dance set the tone for the rest of the event.
The students displayed a Karate Act mesmerising the audience with their energetic performances. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes.

Students of classes of Kindergarten and 6 to 12 competed in events including North Pole Race, Hakuna Matata Race, the Arabian Nights Race, sprints and relays.
Various other sports events like 100m race, 200m race, 400m race  and 4*100m relay were witnessed, winners were awarded with certificates and medals.

The Director, Ms. Ketiki Shastri in her address thanked convenors , entire Staff of MPS Vedvyaspuri, Chief Guest, parent community and all present. The Middle Wing Co-ordinator, Ms. Kirti Rana proposed the vote of thanks.
Best Athletes were Pratik Kardam and Himanshi Chaudhary.
The overall champion trophy was awarded to the Vivekananda house.
The most awaited event, Zumba Dance added more colours to the day. It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish.
